Health and Nutrition

Your kiddos have been troopers this week, especially since I've been out two days.  How ironic that my kiddo gets sick and I get sick during the week we study health and nutrition!  Hmmm...maybe God is telling me to exercise more and eat healthier! ;)  Nevertheless, this class has gotten to do a lot of fun things, with and without me, to learn about health and nutrition this week.  I hope you enjoy these few pics!

 Spell PURPLE Song

Letter "K" ABC Mouse Song

They worked with Mrs. Paula on a combo letter and number skills sheet to talk about letter "K" and #8 from this week.

Mrs. Susie talked to us about the bones in our bodies that help support our muscles.  We used Q-tips to look like the bones in our hand and arm for this cute craft.

We worked on our color words by matching the correct color word with the word written on our fruit bowl color sheet.  These color words are tough, but some kiddos are starting to get them on their own.  So proud of them!

We talked about the sight word "I" this week and read a page about fruit that used this word.  We highlighted every place we saw the word, then circled the color words and colored the picture to correlate.

Mrs. Susie worked on patterns with us this week.  She helped kiddos cut and glue the right fruit needed to complete the pattern on the page.

We talked about the letter "K" and found all the upper and lowercase "K"s on our key sheet with our new small dotters.  Thanks to the Trike-a-Thon fundraiser, we were able to get a whole set of new dotters for our class! :)

Friends working together on the color word sheet.  Teamwork is so helpful with challenging activities!

For a science STEM activity this week, the kids were able to create shapes and various things out of  candy pumpkins and toothpicks.  This was a lot of fun to see what they were able to build.

The kiddos did a partner activity with Mrs. Paula by matching all the shapes they found in a bag.  They worked together to put all the circles together, the squares together, etc.  Another great team effort to solve a problem!

We made salad crafts out of scraps of paper.  They were able to include whatever they wanted on their "paper salad plate".

Bree shared about her time with Gumby over the last week.

Getting our wiggles out in the MIM room!

Though you can't see his face, we celebrated Abraham's birthday this week too.  Happy birthday, Abraham! :)
