Valentine's Day

It's been a "lovely" week celebrating Valentine's Day!  We've made some fun crafts, played with friends inside and outside, shared Valentine cards with our friends, did some fun stations at our party and worked on a lot of various skills throughout the week.  It's been one fun-filled week for sure!  Thanks again to those of you that volunteered or made donations for our party this week.  They were certainly excited for the party, so your help was greatly appreciated. :)  Hope you enjoy the pics from the week!

Spell Yellow Song

Letter "R" Song ABC Mouse

We worked on the #16 this week by tracing it, writing the word, showing it on a ten frame and counting circles using 1:1 correspondence.

We did a new activity with the letter "R" that involved finding the letter in a maze, tracing the "R", and cutting out pics that start with the letter.

We looked for our sight word "you" in our reading paper this week.  It was about rainbows, so it also included a variety of the color words we've been working on too.

We used sponges to paint around a heart covered scripture to show our scripture of the month.  These turned out really cute, so check them out in the hallway!

Bentlee shared his "All About Me" basket items with the class, and then we drew pictures of him for his own book to take home.  So fun!

One of the activities kiddos did at my reading table this week involved matching lowercase letters to the correct letters written on the boards.  They did this while they were waiting for me to do their interview about all the things they love.  Their love interviews are in the hallway as well. ;)

We also traced our lowercase letters as well.

Mrs. Susie helped us make some special thumb print magnets that turned out really cute.  Hope you enjoyed this special gift for Valentine's Day!

We cut and tore pieces of paper to fill in our little hearts that say, "I love you to pieces!"  This was great fine motor practice for these little hands.

Mrs. Amy hung out with us for a bit on Friday, while Susie was out, and played a dice rolling game where we roll and color the number we get.

We made our letter "R" mini books where we find the letter, trace the letter and circle words that start with the letter.  Great practice for our new letter.

Playtime inside with friends

We had a peek of sunshine in between the rain and managed to get some time to play outside this week!  Yeah!

We brought in our Show and Tell items for letter "R" this week.

We had 1 raincoat.

We had 2 rocks.  One rock came all the way from the Grand Canyon and the other rock came all the way from Jerusalem!  In fact, the Jerusalem rock is believed to be found in the location where David and Goliath had their battle.  How cool is that?!!

We had 1 red pepper.

We had 2 rabbits.

We had 1 red robot.

We had 1 reindeer.

We had 1 Rowan with one LEGO guy's name that also starts with "R" that I can't remember.  Sorry!

We had 1 raptor.

We had 1 Rapunzel doll.

We had fun at our Valentine's Day party.  We had friends who brought in popcorn, fruit kabobs, and donut holes.  Yummy!  By the time the party was ready to start, we were certainly feeling those donuts for sure! :)

At our party, we colored masks with markers.

We made bookmarks.

We made graphs with candy hearts to see which color had the most and least.  Then, we got to eat them!

So many cute faces were hidden behind these colorful masks. :)   We've had so much fun this week.  Hope you all have enjoyed the pics!
