Rainbows, St. Patrick's Day and Friendship

We had a busy week squeezing in St. Patrick's Day with rainbows and friendship in our theme.  We had a lot of fun with some rainbow crafts, rainbow experiments, stories about St. Patrick's Day and chats about being a good friend.  We'll continue to talk about friendship in weeks to come as well, but we definitely read some great books and talked about some great strategies this week.  Enjoy our pics from the week!

We made some fun and messy crafts this week one of which involved shaving cream and paint.  We filled a tub with shaving cream, painted a rainbow design in it, placed paper face down in it...

...we lifted it out of the shaving cream...

...we scraped off the excess shaving cream and paint...

...and these were the crafts we ended up with!

So cute!

We worked on our learning rings this week and kiddos got to put a stamp on any cards they got right.  I can definitely tell that kiddos are studying at home!  Thanks for your support!

We continue to work on "every letter every day" to help us with our letter recognition and sounds.  We sing this song to go along with our letter sheet every day, and it's also in the inside cover of your kiddos' reading folders as well.  Ask them to sing it for you. :)

We worked on cutting out letters and then placed the letters with the correct words to show their beginning sounds.  Our cutting skills are definitely improving!

Great job on matching the right sounds with the right pictures too!

Why not wear a colorful unicorn headband for rainbow week? :)  I'm so jealous!

We worked on adding clovers together by making addition problems with our clover papers.  This was great practice for writing our numbers as well as understanding our addition skills.

We drew pictures and wrote about what we would do if we found a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

We drew pictures about our All About Me kiddo this week.

Playtime with friends...

This group of kiddos especially loves building and putting things together.

We had a fun animal jungle toy in our class this week that Mrs. Paula brought in from her house.  It was definitely a hit and they actually shared the animals for it pretty well too!  Yeah!  I love to see good friendship skills! :)

Doing some fun magnet tests to see what does and doesn't stick to the big magnet.

Fun time in our Minds in Motion room working our bodies and brains!  We also did a fun Kids Yoga video with the Trolls theme.  They loved it, and it was perfect for our rainbow theme this week too! ;)

We shared our letter "Z" items for Show and Tell this week.

We had 4 friends with zippers on their jackets.

We had 1 Zord character from Transformers.

We had 2 zebras.

We had1 zucchini and 1 magnet letter Z.
