Thanksgiving

We've had a short week, but we made the most of it and learned about Thanksgiving!  We talked about the first feast between the Pilgrims and Native Americans, and we also talked about using our manners at the Thanksgiving dinner table as well.  We made some fun turkey crafts and had some fun time playing with friends in the classroom and the Minds in Motion Room too.  Hope you enjoy the pics and videos from the week!

The First Thanksgiving Video

We worked on a combination of skill review this week with reviewing our color words, numbers, and letters covered so far.  We also worked on tracing and creating our letter "Ii" of the week as well as showing our number 10 on a ten frame, too.

We created our own turkey pics with colorful feathers we glued on.

We created our own turkey crafts that listed the things we're thankful for.

We also talked about all the things we would feed our turkeys if they were our pets as well.  These were too cute!  They came up with some interesting things to feed their turkeys for sure!

We glued buttons on Indian corn pictures that had a color prayer full of color words we've been working on.  Picking up and gluing on buttons is great fine motor for these little hands too!

Mrs. Andrea did a fun activity with us to help us remember our manners at the dinner table this holiday season.  A variety of pictures of foods were on paper plates and as they were passed, kiddos had to say, "Yes, please" or "No, thank you" to show their manners.  We definitely have a few picky eaters, but we finally found some things everyone could say, "Yes, thank you" to! :)

We brought in letter "Ii" items for Show and Tell this week.

We had 3 ice cream cones.

We had 2 ink pens.

We had 1 ice pack.

We had 1 bunny named "I".  ;)

We had 1 letter "i" magnet.

We had 1 Isabella bird.

We had 2 Iron Men.

We also counted 6 friends from our class who brought in a shoe box for Operation Christmas Child.  Thank you to all the generous families that helped make Christmas special for kids all over the world!

We had some fun time playing in class together too. :)

These chilly days encouraged us to get some wiggles out in the MIM room this week.

Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!  See you next week!
