Pets

What a fun week it's been talking about pets!  These kiddos really enjoyed telling me all about their own pets and even pretending to take care of our "class pets" in our veterinarian center.  They've been using band-aids and doctor kits to patch-up and take care of the stuffed animals that we brought in, and they have enjoyed every minute of this dramatic playtime.  We also made birds out of painted toilet paper rolls and feathers.  Messy but fun!  We also had fun talking about the letter "T" and the color blue this week as well.  Here are a few pics and videos from our week of learning!  (The color blue video link below is a new one that your kiddos didn't get to see, but it's a great way to remember how to spell the word "blue".  Hope you'll share it with them!)  Enjoy the blog!

We made magnets with drawings of ourselves, so that our special work could be on display at home!

We created squares by painting with Q-tips and using blue, our color of the week.

We used small paint dotters to trace the capital and lowercase "T"s.

We colored pictures of different animals that went along with our Bible story about all the animals God created.  Coloring is another great fine motor activity to strengthen those hands.  Encourage your child to color and draw at home too!

One of our morning activities was to paint toilet paper rolls and then stick feathers to the paint to make them stick.

Using paint brushes is another great fine motor activity and picking up the feathers is as well!

The final product was something that should resemble pet birds! :)

Yummy snacks with friends!

We brought in our items that start with "T" for show and tell time.  We had a transformer, a truck, a teddy bear, a tube, a truck with trailer, turtles, a train, and T-Rex.  So many creative items to share in class!

We created our own veterinarian clinic this week.  We had a waiting room full of our stuffed animals ready to be treated for their injuries.

We had our own clinic with band-aids and doctor's kits to treat our animals.

We even had our own examining table and dog bowls as well.  So much fun! :)

More playtime with friends!  We're working hard on social skills...how to share, how to play with everyone and not leave friends out, how to ask friends nicely to play with them, how to work together to clean up messes, etc.  It's soooo important to learn this skills while they're young!

We played in the Minds in Motion room on our rainy day Friday and managed to get a lot of wiggles out.  So fun and so needed on a rainy day! :)

Hope you enjoyed the blog!  See you next week!
