Thanksgiving

We had so much fun this week talking about Thanksgiving and all the things we're thankful for.  We learned a lot about the Pilgrims and Native Americans and their first feast together.  We even got to experience a special visit from a Native American woman who taught us so much about her culture, including a dance for our whole school to enjoy together.  What a fun week!

I've also included some cute videos the kids got to see this week!

"T" is for Thankful Turkeys, and we certainly have very thankful kiddos.  They had so many cute things to say about what they're thankful for.

What is it about little kids' hand prints that is just so stinking cute?!  :)

Indian Corn Prayer Craft
We got to glue buttons on our papers for the first time.  Definitely a tricky activity, but these little hands managed to do it!

We used our family photos in our frames this week, and we even spelled out the word "Family" with our foam letters.  They turned out so cute!

Q-Tip Painting with Brown "T"s

This was our #2 booklet that we didn't get a chance to complete this week, so I sent it home for a few extra things to try at home.  No need to return it.  It's just for fun!

Our special visit from the Native American woman

This picture doesn't even do her shawl justice.  It was gorgeous, and the kids loved touching all the soft fringes at the bottom.

She taught us all a short dance to do in a large circle.

Enjoying some time with our friends in the classroom.

This little get-up was too funny not to take a picture of!

One of our last warm and sunny days for a while I'm afraid.  It was beautiful!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  See you in 2 weeks!

Turkey Time

We had lots of fun talkin' turkeys this week!  Hope you enjoy the pics!  (I apologize that some of them are flipped sideways this time.  Not sure why that happened, but I hope you can still see them!)

Morning Table Top Centers

Working on the #3 by dotting the number, using spiders as counters, tracing 3, and putting 3 stickers on our paper.

Using our names for turkey feathers and using paper plates for our the bodies, we created colorful and festive turkeys!

We counted out 3 feathers to glue to our turkeys.

We talked about what it would be like if we had a turkey for a pet.  Funny answers!

We had a special veteran (Mrs. Laura's husband) visit us on Friday to explain what Veteran's Day means.  He was nice enough to lead us in the pledge and talk to us about the branches of the military and what they do to keep us safe.  Thank you, Lord, for our veterans!!!

Hudson shared his "All About Me" items from his basket on Thursday.

Logan talked about what he did with "Gumby" last week.

Jake shared his "All About Me" items from the basket on Friday.

Playground fun!  Trying to enjoy what few sunny and warm days we have left. :)
