Zoo Animals

We've had so much fun this week with our zoo theme!  We've acted like different animals, gone on letter hunts, made monkeys out of our hands, made arks out of popsicle sticks and so much more!  I hope you enjoy the pics from the week along with our adventures at the Trike-a-thon on Tuesday night.  It's been one fun and busy week!

We had such a fun time!

Zoo Theme Week
We started our week by listening to the book, "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" by the author Michael Rosen online.  He reads it himself with so many fun sound effects.  The kids love it!  Check it out on the link at the top of this blog page.

Instead of going on a 'bear hunt,' we went on a letter hunt.  I wrote every letter of the alphabet on post-its, and Mrs. Andrea hid them each around the room for us.  The kiddos found them during their playtime, and then they brought them to us and tried to name them.  They had so much fun doing this!

We put stickers on our letter N for Narwhals pages and then used our handprints to make monkeys.

We used watercolors to paint N for Newts.

We worked on our reading page by tracing our color words and coloring the animals that go with each one.  We're working on reading these words along with a few sight words as well.

We worked on drawing our number of the week, letter of the week, names, and reviewing previous skills as well.  They love using dry erase boards whenever they can!

We created Noah's arks to go along with our Bible story this week.  We made them out of popsicle sticks and glued animals on as an option.

This little lady had a birthday on Friday! :)

We used our estimation jar this week and guessed how many wooden pegs one of our kiddos brought in.  We made great estimations and then counted as a class to see how many there were.  This is a great way to practice counting up to 20.

We brought in Show and Tell items that started with the letter N for our ten frame.
 We had 1 nutcracker.

 We had 1 Ninja Turtle.

 We had 9 necklaces!

 We had 1 newt.

We had 1 Ninja Turtle Nintendo game.

 We had 3 Nemo fish.

 We had 1 Neptune planet.

We had 1 set of nail art.

We had 1 nickel.

We had fun playing with our frineds inside our classroom. :)

We had fun with our friends outside of the classroom!  We're so thankful that we managed to squeeze in playtime before all the rainy days came!

Have a blessed week!  See you on Wednesday!
