Ice, Snow, and Snowmen

Brrrrr!  As the temperatures have dropped a bit, our discussion of snow, ice, and making snowmen has seemed appropriate. :)  We've learned about how unique snowflakes are and how God made them all different just like people.  We also talked about all the fun things snowmen could do if they came alive at night.  The possibilities are endless!  We had so much fun doing a variety of activities related to snow and ice this week, so I hope you enjoy our pictures and videos from the week.

Letter K Song from ABC Mouse

Snowman Freeze

We made letter "K for Kites" crafts with small diamonds.

We created melted snowmen out of white glue and shaving cream, and then we talked about what made our snowmen melt.  They had some very interesting responses. :)

We worked on showing number 11 on our ten frames.

We drew pictures of animals and snowflakes to make our own winter scene.

We worked on tracing letters with dry erase markers that we've already covered.

We made different shapes and designs using marshmallows (snow balls).

We also made snowflakes with beads on pipe cleaners.  We talked about different patterns that we could use to make each one of our snowflakes unique in their own special way.

There were ice cubes with all different animals frozen inside of them, so we used droppers of warm water to to try to thaw out the water and reveal what was inside of the cubes.

We wrote about and drew pictures of the things that we think snowmen would do at night.

We had fun playing with pretend ice and our snow animals.

We used our magnetic letters to trace our color words and sight words we've been working on.

We used tiny shapes to trace lines of a snowflake.

 They turned out so cool!

Afternoon Lunch Bunch/Bridge Activities

We played Polar Bear bingo with letters we've learned so far.

We used magnet letters to build our names, and then wrote our names with dry erase markers.

We built fabric sandwiches based on knowing our letters and sounds.

We put together puzzles that matched the numbers with the correct number of items.

We built snowmen with upper and lowercase letters and matched them with pictures.

We played with animals on pretend chunks of ice and put cotton balls in the correct cups based on the numbers per cup.

We created snowflakes with paper, glitter glue and sprinkled salt on the glue.

We worked on tracing letters we've covered with dry erase markers.

We created snowmen drawing and talked about size comparisons with small, medium, and large size circles.

We created our own winter scenes with blue paint and salt to look like snow and ice.

We made snowmen out of coffee filters and various shapes.

So cute!

We scooped cotton balls (ice cream) into cups with ice cream scoops.

Hope you enjoyed our pictures from the week!
