Pets

What a fun week it's been learning about pets!  Kiddos have talked about the pets that they have at their house and have had a chance to create them, paint them, and listen to stories about them too.  We have been working really hard on tracing/writing our names, recognizing our names when written, tracing the letter "T" and counting up to 20.  This week, to help with our counting skills, we measured ourselves in dog bones!  We used paper dog bones to lay on the carpet and had each person, including Mrs. Hannah, lie down on the carpet and count the number of dog bones that would fit in a line beside them.  Check out the pics for this funny, yet educational way of measuring. :)  I've also included a few videos that we enjoyed as well.  Be careful though, the Pet Song will definitely get stuck in your mind!  You're welcome! :) Hope you all had a great long weekend.  See you Wednesday!

These little magnets came home this week for all those fun crafts and work that kiddos bring home to show you.  Hope you enjoy sticking this on the fridge! :)

We're working really hard on finding and tracing our names each morning when we come in.

Morning Table Top Centers are always a fun way to learn a variety of skills.
It's a great way to get those brains moving and little hand muscles warmed up for practice writing, coloring, and painting.

We even had a friend who even managed to make our shape of the week too - a square! :)

We made pet turtles this week out of paper plates and square feet to work on our shape.  We used dotters to push and paint dots on the turtle's back too.

We traced the word "blue" and colored Pete the Cat in blue also.

Each week, we work on singing our alphabet sound song to help us remember what sound each letter makes.  This will help us as we learn sounds and hopefully start to read words.

We traced the letter "T", colored all the "T"s we could find and then colored pics that started with the "T" sound.

 They're so focused! :)

We made little dogs out of different designed brown paper.  Gluing with glue sticks is still a challenge for many, so any chance you get to cut and glue things on paper or crafts at home would be great!

Some of them may look a little more like dogs than others, but nevertheless, they turned out super cute! :)  Check them out in our hallway this week!

We laid our dog bones on the carpet, and Mrs. Hannah got to go first.  Mrs. Andrea helped them count to see how many dog bones long I was.
Then, we took turns with each kiddo, and we counted how long they were in dog bones too.

We created a graph with all of our measurements and put it up in the hallway under our self-portraits.  Check these out at the end of the hallway across from the restrooms.

We brought in our Show and Tell items this week for the letter "T".
 We had 1 tambourine.

 We had 1 treasure chest.

 We had 2 trucks.

 We had 1 teddy bear.

 We had 1 toothbrush.

 We had 2 tape dispensers.

 We had 1 tiger.

 We had 2 turtles.

 We had 1 Tinker Bell.

 We had 1 Thomas Train.

We had 1 tape measure.

Indoor playtime with friends...these facial expressions crack me up! :)

Enjoying yummy snacks with friends.  We tried blueberry juice this week to go along with our color of the week and some white powdered donuts to go along with our book, "If You Give a Dog a Donut."

So thankful for sunshine days when we can go outside and play!  It won't be long before we'll all be wishing for warmer weather. :)

Hope you all have a great week!
