Dinosaurs

There are so many cute pics from our Dinosaur theme this week.  I can hardly believe it's already the beginning of November!  Time has flown by with these precious kiddos this Fall, and we've been having so much fun learning new things with each theme.  Hope you enjoy our photos from our fun-filled Dinosaur activities!  By the way, don't forget to send in a family photo by this Friday, November 11th.  Have a great week, and don't forget to vote too! :)

Painting Our Dinosaur Masks

These was a great activity for the #4.  We traced #4, placed 4 stickers on our paper, dotted all the 4's, and then used 4 counters (marbles in this case) to show the number on our ten frame.  A great combination of skills covered all in one activity.

We used dinosaur stamps on our letter "D", and then we used our toy dinosaurs to paint footprints all over the paper too.  Messy but fun!

This is a new activity that allows kiddos to make shapes on a foam peg board.  It's a great fine motor activity that teaches shapes in the process.

It was so sweet to hear about and see the pictures from Mason's adventures with Gumby this week. :)

Harlee was our Student of the Week and was able to share so many special things from home with the class.

It's time to head outdoors for some sunshine and fresh air!

We did a little science activity with dinosaur eggs this week.  We talked about how some animals have live babies and some animals, like dinosaurs, come from eggs.  So, I froze dinosaurs inside water balloons to create "eggs".  They got to use water droppers to try to thaw them out.  We discovered the warmer the water, the faster the water would melt.  We also discovered that inside each egg was a baby dinosaur.

 Our dinosaurs hatched!

Our dinosaur movement activities were a great way to shake some sillies out!  We stomped like dinosaurs, flew like dinosaurs, and even hatched out of eggs like dinosaurs.  I don't know what they enjoyed more, doing the activity or watching me do it with them.  :)

Playing dress up and playing with friends. :)

By the way, this is one of our new rugs that I purchased for the classroom with money from our fundraiser.  Our old rug lost all the traction on the bottom and was becoming to slippery for our kiddos to walk on.   Thanks again for supporting our school!
