Do You Know the President?
The National Anthem
America the Beautiful
We made "log houses" like Abraham Lincoln's by using popsicle sticks and paper.
We made flags with our handprints and stripes.
We talked about ways that we can make the world a better place by helping people with our own two hands.
We hunted for and traced our sight word "can".
We did coin rubbings with different coins on paper with crayons.
We traced our letter of the week, "G" in the process of doing the coin rubbings and talked about
the phrase "In God We Trust" that we see on our coins and bills.
We worked on our cutting skills and cut out each word to create a sentence with our sight word "can".
We traced our first and last names and also compared them to the length of Washington and Lincoln's names to see if they were shorter or longer.
We had a special visit from Dr. Jenkins, a nearby dentist.
He talked to us about how to brush our teeth 2 times a day for 2 minutes with a pea-sized amount of toothpaste. He also reminded us to floss our teeth and visit the dentist for a cleaning regularly.
He even showed us how "Bobo" the stuffed animal brushes his teeth too!
We had our Show and Tell for items that start with the letter "G" this week.
We had 2 gorillas.
We had 1 guy.
We had 1 pack of gum.
We had 1 green necklace.
We had 1 gazelle and 1 goat.
We had 2 Godzillas.
We had 1 girl baby doll.
We had 1 guitar.
Bree was our All About Me student of the week.
We drew pictures of her and she colored the picture I drew of her.

Mrs. Hannah made a special snack for all of us with fruit to make it look like an American flag.
Mrs. Susie made cupcakes in honor of Mrs. Hannah's birthday this week. All the kiddos sang, "Happy Birthday". So sweet!
Such a sweet group of kiddos!
Have a blessed week!
