We talked about the process of how trees and plants grow by starting with a small seed and grow larger and larger. We created a similar sequence picture and glued it in order of how a tree would grow.
We had a few friends who were our Students of the Week this week and drew pictures of them. We're planning to squeeze everyone in before the end of the year!
These kiddos painted their paper plates to look like flowers. Some of them even chose to use a pattern of colors on their petals as well.
We traced the sentence "X is for Xylophone" and then made our own xylophone crafts for our letter of the week. Check these out in the hallway!
My sweet Mom came in and helped with some of our activities as well this week. She used to teach 1st grade, so she loves to be around little ones when she gets a chance. It's so nice to have extra help at the end of the year too! :)
We used our fingerprints and markers to decorate our plant cups that we used to plant our green bean seeds in.
We were so thankful for a pretty day to go outside and plant our seeds!
We brought in items for the letter X for Show and Tell this week. Because of this challenging letter, we said kiddos could bring in items that just had X in the name and didn't necessarily start with X. :)
We had a total of 3 xylophones (just in 2 different pictures).
We had 1 box of Kleenex.
We had 3 letter X's brought in by blocks, flash cards, or foam letters.
We had 2 mini X-rays.
We had 3 boxes (lunch box, jewelry box, and idea box).
We had 1 X-box game controller.
We had 1 fox.
We had 1 T-Rex.
We had fun playing inside the classroom with blocks and playing with flowers in the sensory bin too.
We brought in the light board to play with X-rays and look at them in the light for our letter X week.
I decided to feed these kids dirt and worms this week! We had our usual snacks, and on Friday I brought in chocolate (dirt) pudding with Oreos and gummy worms on top. The most delicious dirt and worms you'll ever eat!
After all that sugar, we needed a chance to work it off in the MIM room!
Hope you have a blessed week!
