Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! We've had a fun past few weeks talking about turkeys and the story of the first Thanksgiving. We've made crafts with turkeys, pilgrims, Native Americans, pumpkins, etc., and we've talked a lot about the many things that we have to be thankful for. These sweet kiddos managed to come up with quite a few great things to be thankful for too! We also talked about letter "S" as well as the other letters we've covered so far. We worked on the sight word "me" and reviewed the color word "brown" as well. Hope you enjoy our many pics and fun videos from the last few weeks!

The Turkey Pokey
The Story of Thanksgiving from Plymouth Rock Video
We're starting to practice our songs for the LAP Christmas Program. Don't forget that it's Wednesday, December 18th at 6 p.m. at Floyd Central High School! :)
We made snakes out of the letter "S."
We created a "Thankful Journal" of all the things we're thankful for and drew pictures of them too.
We worked on cutting out the word "November" and matched the letters and glued them in the right place.
Our cutting skills have come so far!
We decorated our own turkeys with feathers of all different colors.
We colored turkeys with the numbers 1-10 at the bottom. I cut them apart and sent them home for your child to put them in order from 1-10. Counting is much different then being able to identify the number and put it in order. Great practice for home!
We used different designed scrapbook paper to create turkeys with different colored feathers.
We drew pictures of our family that we are so thankful for.
We made placemats for our turkey dinners by making a turkey handprint with a poem and decorating it.
Both sides of our placemats turned out super cute! Hope you enjoyed them!
Our Indian Corn Prayer Craft
We created turkey headbands with "thankful feathers."
Practicing our coloring skills to get ready for kindergarten..."Little tiny up and down all the way across." This is what we tell ourselves to help us stay in the lines and not scribble. :)
Check the hallways for our crafty turkeys and letter "S" crafts too!
We had a Fruit Harvest together by each using a Ziploc bag full of different types of cut up fruit. Each took a turn pouring their fruit to a big bowl to make a fruit salad for all to share for a snack. We talked about how the Pilgrims and Native Americans did the same thing on the first Thanksgiving too. They each took a little of what they had and contributed to the overall meal.
We had Show and Tell with letter "S"
1 pair of slippers
1 sisters picture
1 seahorse
2 Spidermen
1 shark
1 Sally??
3 snakes
1 Santa Snowglobe and 1 stocking
1 scooter
2 socks
We also had some fun poking feathers through colanders.
We used letter stamps for our playdough too.
We celebrated a friend's birthday this week too!
