Halloween

It was a great week celebrating Halloween and getting to have our class party!  We saw some great costumes, played some fun games, and did some fun crafts to help us learn our skills throughout the week.  We talked about letter "L" and the number 8 as well as the color PURPLE.  Hope you enjoy our pictures from the week!

Table Top Centers to start off our day!

We painted around some bats using sponge paint.

We traced the letter "L" with leaf stickers.

We did a color by number to help us learn our color words and associate them with numbers.

Free drawing time

Reading our Halloween book in reading groups

Working on a combo skills sheet

Taping our body pictures to look like mummies

Everybody drew a picture of what they were going to look like in their Halloween costume and added it to our class mural.

We painted little pumpkins with acrylic paint.

They turned out so cute and colorful!

Using different shapes to make haunted house papers

Great fine motor practice with these little hands by using tweezers to pick up sparkly balls and put them in the pumpkin tray

We did a science experiment with candy pumpkins by putting one piece of candy in milk, one in vegetable oil, and one in apple cider vinegar.  We discovered that the milk turned orange as the pumpkin candy slowly dissolved.  The apple cider vinegar caused the candy to dissolve and the sugar coating hung on the surface of the liquid.  The vegetable oil caused the candy to stay the same.

We also worked on putting a big skeleton puzzle together as a small group.

We did a craft that showed our skeleton too with Q-tips.

Show and Tell time for the letter "L"

We had 3 LEGOs

2 lemons

1 LOL doll

1 "love" picture

1 Louis the Cardinal

1 ladybug

1 lion holding a lollipop

2 lion animals

2 lights

Fun times in the green room!

Such a fun group of kiddos!  These costumes are too cute. :)

Afternoon Bridge and Lunch Bunch Activities

We used tweezers to pull out little spiders, bats, and ghosts to complete the patterns on our cards.  This was a great way to work on fine motor skills too!
