Polar Express and Trains

It's been another fun week at LAP with celebrating Grandparents Day, painting ornaments, playing with friends, practicing Christmas songs, learning new things, and pretending to be on the Polar Express drinking hot chocolate!  Does it get any better than this?  We've had a lot of fun, so I hope you enjoy all the pics from our fun-filled week!

Hope you're planning to come next Thursday, December 13th for our Christmas Program.  We've been working super hard on our songs and motions! :)

We're still working on writing our names independently, but we're making progress.

We're also working on our letter of the week, D, and the sounds it makes.  We reviewed our color words on our train sheet too.

We created our own name trains by putting all our letters in our name in order and then verbally spelling it too.

They turned out super cute!  Look for them in the hallway!

We also worked on creating our own trains with different shapes too.  Then, we counted the number of each shape we used to make them.

We worked on adding dots on pictures to do some of our first addition problems.  This was a great introduction to math and gave us great practice writing a variety of numbers too.

For Show and Tell Letter D this week, we had a variety of items brought in.

We had 1 Donald Duck.

We had 3 dinosaurs.

 We had 1 doll.

\
We had 1 dollar.

We had 1 dump truck.

We had 4 dogs, including 1 dog guitar. :)

Fun times with our Grandparents this week!

We painted lots of ornaments...

...and then we took lots of pictures.  Too cute!

We drank some yummy hot chocolate...

We created our own train with chairs and even had tickets punched to board it.  Then we watched a few scenes from the movie, "The Polar Express."

We had fun playing with friends inside and building new things.

 So many sweet smiles!

What's cuter than kids in pajamas and Santa hats?! :)

So many great pics in the MIM room this week!

This girl just loves the roller coaster! :)

We even squeezed in a little playtime outside when the sunshine finally came out!  Had to take advantage of it while we could!

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Gingerbread and Christmas Trees

The holiday season has officially begun with talk of gingerbread and Christmas trees this week! We've made gingerbread men, read poems about Christmas lights, made snowmen with our names, read some great books, and gotten to play with friends.  We've been working on practicing our Christmas songs as well for the program, so I hope all of you will be able to come!  Hope you enjoy the pics and videos from the week!

We read our Christmas Lights poem and looked for our colored words and circled them and colored the light accordingly.  We also talked about our sight word of the week "me" that was also in the poem as well.

We worked on coloring to stay inside the lines without scribbling to get ready for Kindergarten. :)

We rolled out cinnamon applesauce dough to make ornaments that look like little gingerbread men.  We also colored gingerbread houses too. :)

My sweet Mom, a retired teacher herself, decided to come in and help me out in class this past Wednesday.  She helped kiddos work on a special project that I think you all will love. :)  She misses hanging out with little ones in the classroom, so I think she really enjoyed meeting your sweet kiddos this week.

We've been working hard to put the letters in our name in order and know the letters in our name, and this little snowman activity was a great way to do just that.

We brought in a letter S item for Show and Tell this week.  We had a friend bring in a soccer ball.

Although I was gone on Friday, we had a lot of other friends who brought in their Show and Tell items as well. :)

We had fun playing with friends in the classroom this week.

We were also able to get some wiggles out in the MIM room this week as well!

Hope all of you have a great week!
