Gingerbread, Lights, and Trees

We have had a jam-packed week full of studying gingerbread, trees, and lights.  It's been super busy with squeezing in 3 topics, but it's been so much fun.  Hope you enjoy all the pics and videos from the week!  By the way, your kiddos did a great job with spelling the word R-E-D this week.  Next week, they'll spell the word W-H-I-T-E.  I've included the song video that they know to help them remember how to spell it.  They should know it well by now! :)

Finnley shared with the class about all the fun things he got to do with Gumby over Thanksgiving Break!

We drew pictures of some of our favorite things that we like to do with our family around the holidays.

We wrote letters to Santa about the things we want for Christmas this year.

We put stickers on each Christmas tree for practice with 1:1 correspondence.  We put 10 stickers on the 10 tree, 5 stickers on the 5 tree, etc.  This was a little time-consuming with little hands, but they managed to do it.  We still have a few that are working on number recognition with 1-10, so extra practice at home would be super helpful. :)

We matched capital letters on stickers with lowercase letters on our Christmas trees.  This was tough for a few kiddos, but we're still working on recognizing both our lowercase and uppercase letters.

We shared our letter "S" items for Show and Tell, and then counted them on our ten frame in class.

We had 1 scorpion...

 1 safari truck...

1 Shopkins...

1 wooden screwdriver...

1 Stegosaurus...

1 stethoscope...

2 snakes...

1 sucker...

and 1 Spiderman.

We made Gingergread houses on paper sacks.  They were so proud of their work that we had to take pictures of them!  I love it when kiddos get a chance to be creative.  ;)

It's playtime!

I took a few individual pics of each kiddo.  How can you not love these sweet faces?

These kiddos have made so much progress playing together and cleaning up together as well.  We're not perfect, but we've certainly come a looong way!

Too cute!

These sweet little ones have loved looking at our large selection of Christmas books this week.  I love to see kiddos looking at books!!!

We reviewed all of our colors this week, and we had a parent kind enough to send us a rainbow of colorful fruits and vegetables!   She also sent in hummus with crackers and popcorn.  I was so proud to see kiddos trying new foods that they may not always eat all the time.  So brave to try something new that's also so good for us!  (Mrs. Susie and I had to sample them ourselves too.  They looked too good to resist!)  We appreciate all those yummy snack donations from parents each week!

Fun times in the MIM room this week!

Hope you enjoyed our pics from the week!  See you Wednesday!
