Be sure to check out the Storybots videos about planets. There are many to choose from, and the kids LOVE THEM! You can find them on YouTube or KidsYouTube, and I believe you can download the Storybots app as well. They have songs about letters, colors, numbers, dinosaurs, etc. Check it out!
Storybots: The Planets
Storybots: The Sun
Storybots: The Moon
Storybots: I'm a Star
We got started with our Table Top centers. We have some new centers, so kiddos will get a chance to do some new activities in the weeks to come.
We keep working on improving our tracing our names.
We also work on tracing our first and last names when we do our learning rings as well.
These friends are making so much progress!!
This little guy was our Student of the Week this week, and we got to hear him talk about some special things that he brought into class to tell us more about himself.
Then, we drew pictures of him. This is a great test of following directions and drawing our shapes as well. Normally, we let kiddos choose their own colors and be creative with whatever they want their picture to look like. Now, we're working a little bit on following a model and using "realistic" colors for skin and colors to match clothing of the person we see. Of course, we'll still have creative opportunities. We just try to find the balance! :)
We colored coffee filters with markers and then sprayed them with water. Once they dry, we'll make them look like planets. They'll be super cute, so look for them soon!
We painted with white puffy paint to make our pictures look like the moon, and then we used water bottle holes and lids to create "craters" in the moons we made.
They turned out so cool!
We spelled the color GREEN with our stamp letters.
We also drew pictures of ourselves as well. This was a creative freestyle drawing. ;)
We had Show and Tell for our Letter W items.
We had 1 wallet.
We had 2 watches.
We had 2 play food waffles.
We had 1 Wildcats flag.
We had 2 watermelons.
We had 1 toy Wall-E.
We had 1 wagon.
We had 1 Wiggles CD.
We had 3 water bottles.
We had 2 wands.
We also enjoyed some playtime with friends in the classroom this week. We also did some time in the MIM room, but I forgot to take pictures. Sorry! Nevertheless, these kiddos had a lot of fun and really love to build! :)
Hope you enjoyed our pics from the week! See you on Wednesday!
