Letter "L" ABC Mouse Video
Color Words and Foods - "Rainbow of Foods"
We put stickers on our ten frames to show the number "8" this week, and using stickers is great fine motor practice to strengthen these little hands. It was tough for quite a few, but they managed it.
We painted the letter "L" with LEMONS and LIMES in our color purple of the week.
We also used purple glitter paint on our hands to look like "germs" on our handprint papers and poems.
Then, we washed our hands really well to get the paint "germs" off. Mrs. Andrea taught us a hand-washing song and gave us some great tips on washing our hands really well with soap, drying them well, and then throwing our paper towel in the trash where it belongs. So important to know this during cold and flu season!
We used paper to make a craft that looked like salad on a plate.
We created paper carrots, yellow peppers, tomatoes, and lettuce to make our salads.
We also talked about keeping our bones healthy when we made our skeletons. We used Q-tips and cotton balls to create our own skeletons with a little poem to go along with them.
They turned out so cute!
Mrs. Andrea worked with kiddos on painting grapes with wine corks dipped in purple paint. It sounds strange, but they love painting with corks and it's a great fine motor activity. They also worked on our sight word "I" that was in the sentence at the bottom of the page.
In my group we worked on color words and practice with making our letter and number of the week. The number "8" is especially difficult, so we sing, "Make an S, but don't you wait. Go right back up and make an 8."
These letter "L"s are looking great!
We shared our Show and Tell items.
We had 1 lamb.
We had 1 leaf (which I think is behind his back). ;)
We had 1 lantern.
We had 2 Legos.
We had 2 lions.
We had 1 Lego Minecraft character.
We had 1 lizard.
We had 1 Luigi character.
We had 1 toy lamp.
We had 1 lemon yellow pony.
We had 1 lime.
We had 1 orange foam letter "L".
We talked about eating healthy and tried different veggies as a class. Then, we graphed our favorite veggies that we tried as a class.
Mrs. Andrea also made purple smoothies for us with berries and yogurt. Yum!
Playtime in the classroom!
We built shapes and towers out of purple grapes and toothpicks. So fun to be creative and use those muscles in our hands too!
It just warms my heart to see kiddos reading voluntarily during their free time! :)
Sharing books with friends warms my heart too! Are you sensing a trend here...?
Fun time getting our wiggles out in the Minds in Motion room.
